We know that for decades companies worked on sophisticated HR systems and multi-national compliant payroll systems. They spend serious amounts of money in technology that they call employee core data or systems of record. Other investments were spend in fundamental organisation of HR departments, e.g. Center of Excellence or Shared Services Organisations. Common understanding was that you can solve a specific problem just by adding workforce or you simply put an additional tool on top of all the other system layers in your company. And all of this worked well. Still we have doubts that HR departments operate at efficiency levels or FTE ratios they once planned for.

We would like to argue that now is the time to change this misbalance. HR Systems and additional value adding tools are no longer the center of gravity they once were. Of course every company requires ideally a single-source-of-truth all-in-one Human Capital Management (HCM) system, but you need to put people, your employees, at the very center of the company first. As a result, Employee Experience Management and Talent Intelligence Systems become even more important.

As technology further evolved and we have near artificial intelligence solutions and automation ready to run, it´s about time to stop HR managers around the globe doing robotic tasks. Instead HR teams should begin working alongside A.I. and take the chance to bring more humanity to the HR function. As processes become more data-driven, decisions become more objective and outdated processes will be replaced by highly efficient workflow process management, we believe that HR professionals can build trust, employee engagement and a winning workplace culture.

We really need to stop think problem oriented only. Instead a solution focused thinking will help us to proceed and get tasks done what problem-oriented people say cannot be done. In other words: pure progress. Once we start solution oriented thinking we are aware that we cannot change certain facts and will only spend time in an inefficient way when we seek for potential reasons or heuristics of a problem. Our understanding is that we pull together facts and data of a certain problem, we analyse, we work hard and smart, we come up with solution - in that order.

Our a source of inspiration - we may start with a lightbulb moment or a certain insight but having just an idea and making a success of it are very different things. We consider this the difference between invention and innovation. The route from one to the other is rarely a straight line but you can prepare and plan this journey.
